Wayfinder's Symbology

People often ask about the story behind my logo. The ocean has always been a powerful anchor in my life, a place where I find immense strength, clarity, and calm.At the center of my logo is a classic, weathered tall ship facing the open water. A ship isn't built to stay safely in the harbor; it is built to sail. But to cross deep waters, a captain must look to the sky to chart a course.Guiding the ship are five stars, representing the ancient map of the tarot itself: the four physical elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, and the fifth star of Spirit that connects them all. Just as ancient mariners used the stars to find their position in the dark, we use these elemental energies to help you find your bearings.Five also happens to be my favorite number. It is a number that represents challenge and disruption. To me, that is exactly what life is: learning to navigate the unpredictable waves while keeping your eyes fixed on the stars that guide you safely home.

Greetings and welcome. My name is Checka and I look forward to working with you on your journey.My approach is practical, intuitive, and deeply informed by a lifetime of helping others. Before launching Wayfinder’s Tarot, I spent over 40 years in higher education, earning both a Master’s degree in Counseling and a PhD in Educational Administration. While I am not a licensed clinical therapist, much of my work involved crisis management and guiding people through complex mental health and personal challenges. That lifetime of experience learning how to listen deeply, protect personal dignity, and hold a completely safe space when the waters get rough is woven into every reading I give.I treat every reading as a sacred, collaborative conversation. When you sit at my table, there is no judgment and no frightening predictions, just a grounded, compassionate space to look at the map of your life.Combined with nearly thirty years of tarot study, I offer a unique blend of grounded support and intuitive insight. I’m not here to tell you what will happen; I’m here to help you see the currents, understand your options, and find the clarity you need to confidently choose your own direction. Whether you’re seeking illumination on an particular issue or looking for broader clarity on your current horizon, I am honored to help you navigate your journey.
